Ari Vatanen has proposed the cabinet members he hopes to install in office, if he wins the FIA Presidential election later this year. With current incumbent Max Mosley set to stand down in October, Vatanen is running against ex-Ferrari team boss Jean Todt to take Mosley’s place in the Formula One governing body’s highest office. The former world rally champion has named German Hermann Tomczyk as his preferred deputy president for motorsport, Spaniard Fernando Falco y Fernandez de Cordova as his candidate to become the president of the FIA senate, and Bernard Tay from Singapore as his nominee for the office of deputy president for mobility…
After travelling back to his home country of Brazil on Monday, Brawn GP’s Rubens Barrichello has wasted no time in catching up with his good friend Felipe Massa. Barrichello visited Massa’s home on Wednesday, as his fellow Brazilian continues to recuperate from the fractured skull he sustained during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. As his planned return to the Formula One cockpit draws ever closer, seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher is to ratchet up his preparations and get back behind the wheel of an F2007 this week. Schumacher has arranged a two-day test at the Italian track, Mugello, from Tuesday. It follows the German’s one-day stint in the two-year-old car, running on GP2 slick tyres, just over a week ago.
