Hamilton, who retained his lead in the driver standings, felt his penalty was fair and is now looking forward to an upgraded MP4-25 for his home race in two weeks’ time…

2010/06/26 – 1:13 pm | No Comment

Red Bull picked up their pole position string again in Valencia on Saturday afternoon, as Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber sewed up the front row for the European Grand Prix. Going into the final runs of Q3 it was the Australian who held the advantage, but Vettel put a superb lap together to snatch the premier starting slot away, stopping the clocks in 1m 37.587s. Webber improved, but 1m 37.662s wasn’t quite enough…

Sebastian Vettel pushed Robert Kubica off the top slot on the final lap of a gripping final practice session in Valencia this morning, as the leading runners slogged it out and those with ‘blown’ diffuser aerodynamics leapt ahead of the McLaren duo that had ruled the roost in Turkey and Canada. Vettel banged round in 1m 38.052s for Red Bull, pushing aside Kubica’s 1m 38.154s for Renault right at the end

2010/06/25 – 6:42 pm | No Comment

The start of the 2010 season saw Toro Rosso’s Sebastian Buemi retreating into the shadows, with difficult races and unsatisfying results. Many teams were keen to get out and try significant modifications to their aerodynamic packages in Valencia on Friday. The programmes were relatively uncomplicated on the medium compound Bridgestone prime tyres on the dusty track. That changed when they attempted to go quicker on the super soft compound option tyre, which grained laterally and transversely in the morning.
