Carlin deny F1 team rumours

Carlin racing team have denied they have submitted an entry to compete in F1 next year. Racing director Trevor Carlin denied reports on some sites this morning claiming the team were gearing up for an F1 campaign in 2011: While F1 may be a long-term goal for the team, we have not submitted an application for the 2011 season, nor are we in any position to do so. At the moment we are 100 per cent focused on our current programmes and continue to put all our efforts into winning championships and races in the junior categories

Lewis Hamilton reckons it’s important to push for wins rather than settle for point to be competitive in the world championship this year. Speaking to his official website after his second consecutive win of the season the 2008 world champion said: It’s great to be leading the world championship, but, I have to be honest, Formula 1 is so tough and so competitive at the moment that you can’t take anything for granted – and, while I might be on top right now, I know that I’ll need to fight for every lap of the next 11 races to remain up there.

When the mechanic lifts the front of the car, he immediately moves his body in the direction of the pits.

Schumacher “closed the door too much”

Felipe Massa pointed the finger at former team mate Michael Schumacher for their collision in the Canadian Grand Prix. Massa blamed Schumacher for breaking his Ferrari’s front wing during the race: I was caught up in the accident at the first corner, sandwiched between Button and Liuzzi, which removed any chance of a clean race and a strong finish. I had a good start and was making up places on the way to the first corner, but then I had to pit for a new nose and that was it.

Ferrari Driver Academy members Jules Bianchi, Mirko Bortolotti and Daniel Zampieri sampled the team’s constructors championship-winning F2008 at the Fiorano circuit today. The trio drove a car supplied by the teams F1 Clienti department, which was also used to give Felipe Massa some test mileage over the winter as he made his comeback from injury.
