Red Bull announced on Thursday that Mark Webber will continue to drive for the team next season.

Formula One drivers are a jet-setting bunch at the best of times, but this week a couple have been especially busy clocking up the air miles, after taking part in a street demonstration in Russia before heading to Hungary for this weekend’s race. McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen and Williams’ Kazuki Nakajima were both in action at the annual Moscow City Racing event on Sunday.

Although Force India ultimately left the last round in Germany disappointed, their performance over the race weekend was highly encouraging, with Adrian Sutil qualifying in seventh and racing as high as second.

Although BMW Sauber’s 2009 season to date has been far from ideal, the team held a special day at the Nurburgring on Monday to thank the team’s fans and partners for their continued support. Following his German Grand Prix success, Mark Webber is closer than ever to Red Bull team mate Sebastian Vettel, both in terms of performance and world championship points. Webber is third in the standings on 45.5 to second-placed Vettel’s 47. But while championship leader Jenson Button may hope to gain from the Red Bull duo taking points off each other, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner insists the team won’t favour one driver unless a clear title favourite emerges…

While Red Bull won the race, Renault also had reason to celebrate in Germany, with Fernando Alonso clocking the fastest lap of the race in his upgraded R29. Alonso’s team mate Nelson Piquet will receive the same package in time for next weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix and technical director Bob Bell is hopeful that both drivers will enjoy strong performances in Budapest…
