Adrian Newey in his Red Bull-Renault RB5 at Goodwood Red Bull star designer Adrian Newey has been given one of the team’s 2009 cars. He was presented with the RB5 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed today. He drove the car up the hill today and will drive it again tomorrow.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed begins today and there are over 50 F1 cars present celebrating the 60th anniversary of the first world championship season. The picture collection below show the F1 cars’ first run up the hill this morning in front of a packed crowd. More pictures will be posted on F1 Fanatic throughout the weekend including a complete index of all the Grand Prix cars present plus some of the non-Formula 1 cars of interest.
David Coulthard has blamed Mark Webber’s spectacular crash in the European Grand Prix on the difference in speed between the Webber’s Red Bull and Heikki Kovalainen’s Lotus: Obviously the Red Bull [has] massive top speed relative to the Lotus and it just catches the drivers out.
