The F1 Fanatic Predictions Championship is as closely-fought as ever with Scunnyman edging into a one-point lead over Arpi_ as we pass the halfwau mark. Victory in round nine went to Mateusz (actually there should be several more ‘z’s in there) and Ace claimed the runners-up prize – by just three-thousandths of a second. Having pilloried the European Grand Prix stewards in the 48 hours following the race, Ferrari have begun to tone down their criticism of Sunday’s event. Fernando Alonso was first to take a step back from his earlier criticism of the race as “manipulated”, saying “we should talk about it together in a calm way, to ensure that things like this do not happen again.” Alonso said : We were particularly unlucky in terms of the timing of when the safety car appeared on track. It would have only needed a few seconds more or less to totally change our race.

Four points for eight place was a meagre result from a weekend where much had been expected as the team introduced its exhaust-driven diffuser upgrade.
Michael Schumacher recorded his worst ever Grand Prix finish with 15th place in the European Grand Prix. Meanwhile Red Bull were celebrating their tenth F1 victory. Read on for more facts and stats from the European Grand Prix
